Halloween events in Cavan 2023

Did you know that Ireland is the home of Halloween? The Halloween holiday has its roots in the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain. This was a pagan religious celebration to welcome the harvest at the end of the summer when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. Over time, Halloween has evolved into a day of activities like trick-or-treating, carving jack-o-lanterns or pumpkins, festive gatherings, donning costumes and eating treats. There are plenty of Halloween activities happening in Cavan this October, so why not plan your visit and spend a spooky night or three in the Lake County. Here are our top events.
