Getting Here

This is Cavan!

How to get to Cavan

Many visitors note that once you get here, the pace of things seems to slow down a bit. Whatever the reason for this change of pace, you’ll be surprised by just how many great attractions and activities we have here to fill all that wonderfully slowed-down Cavan time.

By Car

Cavan is located on the main N3 Dublin – Donegal road and is a central point between Dublin, Belfast, Donegal, Galway and Sligo. Cavan is located less than two hours from the ferry ports in Dublin, Dun Laoghaire and Belfast, and the airports of Belfast and Dublin.

By Bus

Virginia and Cavan town are serviced by hourly buses from Dublin and Donegal. Cavan town is also serviced regularly from Belfast, Sligo and Galway. For Blacklion and West Cavan take the bus from Dublin to Enniskillen. From Enniskillen, take the local service to Blacklion (twice daily). Blacklion is also serviced from Sligo. In addition there is a daily service from Dublin Airport direct to and from Cavan town.
