Arvagh lies on the border of Longford and Leitrim and is famous as the town where the three provinces of Ulster, Leinster and Connacht meet. The area is very popular with fishermen and lakes such as Hollybank, Gulladoo and Rockfield offer excellent angling all year round. An international fishing tournament takes place every September. The famous Arvagh Agricultural Show takes place every July. 

The Breffni Arms Hotel is a family run hotel in the centre of the town serving great food and famous for a friendly welcome. McSeain’s 18-hole pitch and putt course is located in nearby Cornafean (4 miles). Arvagh is within easy reach of Killykeen Forest Park, Cavan Adventure Centre, Cavan Museum and the WW1 Trench Experience, the Knights & Conquest Centre in Granard and the Royal Canal Greenway, which can be accessed in nearby Longford.
