Cootehill St Patricks Weekend

Cootehill is gearing up for its biggest St. Patrick’s Day Parade yet, as the town celebrates 300 years of history with a special Tercentenary event on Sunday, March 16th, at 3 PM.

This year’s theme, ‘300 Years of Cootehill’, invites everyone to embrace the town’s rich heritage, focusing on Farming, Flax, and Market Town traditions. Get ready to witness old-style Cootehill being brought to life with creative floats, vintage costumes and a strong community spirit!

The parade will kick off near the Church of Ireland and make its way up Market St, showcasing a vibrant mix of participants, including local organizations, schools, sports clubs and businesses who always push the boat out to create the most engaging and fun displays.

Prizes and trophies will be awarded for:
• Best Community Float
• Best Business Float
• Kids Best Interpretation of the Theme (featuring kids as Old-Style Farmers, Milk Maids, and Flax Workers)
• Best Vintage Car

All young participants dressed as farmers, flax workers or milk maids will also receive medals for their efforts!

Don’t miss this chance to join the celebration and promote your group or business. For details on the weekend program or participating in the weekend’s events, visit cootehill.ie.
