This summer, the team at This is Cavan announced a competition to highlight the amazing tourism businesses that County Cavan has to offer! The #lovecavan competition asked entrants to use the hashtag and name their favourite Cavan business. Not surprisingly nearly every hospitality and tourism business in the County was mentioned!

The competition complemented the recent Cavan County Hero’s campaign that has been shining a light on the faces behind the businesses. The people that fly the flag for the Lake County and work tirelessly to keep our County on the map. Some of the hero’s mentioned so far include Sheila McKiernan of the Keepers Arms in Bawnboy, Savina from Cavan County Museum, Kevin Rooney from Hotel Kilmore and Sean Thornton from Cavan Adventure Centre.

The winning prize was an amazing 2-night mid-week stay for a couple or a family of four worth €500.  It included 2 nights Bed and Breakfast in the beautiful Cavan Crystal Hotel.
